Next Thursday the 28th July marks the start of the Sydney International Boat Show for 2016! It’s the largest boat show in the southern hemisphere and is a great place for anglers to indulge in boating and fishing.
On the Friday and Saturday night the boat show stays open late and I will be talking on the ‘Hot Seat Stage’. At 6pm on both nights I’ll be talking for 30 mins about fishing from inflatable boats for Murray Cod. It’s a style of fishing we have been doing for the past couple of years and it’s my favourite way to fish.
We access water that no one has ever seen before and the fishing is unbelievable. The inflatable boats fall into a category of small watercrafts and during the talk I will run through why inflatables are the best. I guide you through the style of fishing and how it helps us to catch more fish.
The best part about inflatables is that they are easily customisable and I recommend you add your own personal touch. We have designed and built decks that sit in our inflatables. This provides us with storage space underneath and a platform to cast from. During the talk I’ll run through step by step how I designed and built my custom decks so that you can do the same.
Earlier this year Paul Worsteling from IFISH came and filmed an episode with myself and the Social Fishing team. The episode was based on floating down shallow rivers in our inflatable boats targeting Murray Cod. These episodes will air later in the year so make sure you keep an eye out on the website for more details.
The boats we use are the Takacat Inflatable Catamarans. These boats are perfect for fishing freshwater and I’ll have one with me the show in Sydney next week. Make sure you head down to Darling Harbour and enjoy the show. I’ll be running through the features of this boat and also the exact model we use.
I hope to see you there! And don’t forget, ‘Inflatable Boat Drifting: the new way to fish’ at 6:00pm on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th July!
